Catholic Sisters Week
This week is Catholic Sisters Week and we would like to take a moment to recognize the Sisters of Divine Providence, our founders and sponsors since 1926. These amazing women have answered God's call and work tirelessly to make God's Providence more visible in the world. We are very fortunate that they share their lovely home with us. Allowing our students to explore the beautiful 42-acre campus that has the Provincial House as its centerpiece. Our school is blessed to be a mission of this congregation and we continue to keep the sisters and their vocations in our prayers.
This year in celebration of Catholic Sisters Week the Sisters nationwide are participating in hunger relief efforts. We thought we would assist that effort by spreading the word. In the United States, 54 million people are food insecure, including 18 million children. In partnership with the Catholic Sisters Leadership Conference of Women Religious, we will observe Catholic Sisters Week by focusing attention on food insecurity and its underlying causes—the pandemic, poverty, unemployment, under-employment and inaccessibility to healthy food. How can you join us in this national response to support those who are hungry?
• Donate food to your local food pantry
• Host a food drive
• Contribute financially to organizations that address issues of hunger and
food insecurity
• Advocate for policies that will increase access to food
• Ask family and friends to join in this effort
Catholic Sisters Week began in 2015 as a part of National Women’s History Month. For more information, visit catholicsistersweek.org.
Please note: Photo is pre 2020-21. We hope that we will be able to welcome the sisters back for visits with the students very soon.
