Catholic Schools Week 2019

Sunday January 27th

 

JV Boys Home Basketball Game 2:00 pm in the Gym.

 

Kickoff Spaghetti Dinner 4:00– 6:00 pm in the auditorium. Sponsored and organized by the APTA.  

                                              Price is $8 for students, $12 for adults.

                                              Tickets must be purchased in advance - Spaghetti Dinner Sign Up.  

 

Monday January 28th

Vocabulary Word Day:  Students may dress up to represent their favorite vocabulary word.  

Vocabulary Parade:  During the last period of the day.

 

Tuesday January 29th 

Spirit Day:  dress down and wear an Alpha (or blue/white) shirt and jeans.

 

School Wide Assembly:  The Carnegie Science Center will be bringing us their Science on the Road show entitled

“Chem-Mystery Files,” sponsored by the APTA.

 

Wednesday January 30th

Service or Saint:  Students may dress as a Saint or as a Service person

Snack with your Buddies: last period of the day, students will have the opportunity to eat a snack and spend time with their buddies.  (Grades 3-5 will spend time together.)

 

Thursday January 31st

APTA and AAA Alpha Shirt Day:  wear their new yellow Alpha Shirts from the APTA & AAA and jeans.

 

Special Luncheon: special lunch of pizza, fruit, drinks, and dessert in the auditorium during 5th period for all students.  

School wide Bingo: last period of the day, students will participate in a school-wide Bingo game for a chance to earn a special “Reward Card” from one of their current teachers.  The words will relate to our Catholic Faith. 

 

Friday (February 1st)

Celebratory Mass at 1:15 in the Chapel during which time we will also Bless Throats. 

We will also be announcing our Door Decorating Contest Winners and the Alpha Choir will sing “Strong in Our Faith.”  

Students should wear their mass attire.

Kindness Week

  Students will be encouraged to Show Kindness to gain ribbons to add to their CSW pin.  

SOUPer Bowl food Drive

All week we are collecting nonperishable donations for North Hills Community Outreach.  

Penny Challenge

Students have been assigned to one of 5 groups:  Prayerful, Polite, Positive, Prepared, and Productive.  The group with the greatest net total by the end of the week will win.   

All proceeds will benefit our Sister School in Burkina Faso

Door Contest

During the last period of the day, homerooms will compete in a door decorating contest. 

The Sisters of Divine Providence will be judging/voting on the best door.
